The lesson in the Saxon text is not the complete lesson. That's why John Saxon recommended an experienced Saxon instructor who could teach how the incremental lessons connect. Without this essential instruction, the student may find the Saxon lessons disorganized and confusing. That's why we created DIVE!
Unlike other Saxon supplements that only teach the Saxon lesson, Dr. Shormann reviews the concept the new lesson builds on and teaches how the new concept connects, breaking complex concepts into bite-sized lessons that are easy to understand. Then he teaches 3-5 practice problems to ensure understanding. During the lecture, students work interactively, taking notes and working problems with Dr. Shormann.
Course Description
The DIVE/Saxon Calculus course teaches all the topics on the AP Calculus AB exam and about 70% of the AP Calculus BC exam. It also teaches all the concepts on the CLEP Calculus exam. The DIVE Calculus course includes a free copy of CLEP Professor for CLEP and AP Calculus. Following is our recommended prep for each exam.
CLEP Calculus Exam Prep
Complete the first 112 lessons in the DIVE/Saxon Calculus program
Complete CLEP Professor for CLEP and AP Calculus
AP Calculus AB Exam Prep
Complete the first 112 lessons in the DIVE/Saxon Calculus course
Complete CLEP Professor for CLEP and AP Calculus
Complete DIVE/Saxon by Mid-March to allow time to prepare
AP exams given once a year in early May
AP Calculus BC Exam Prep
Complete all the prep for the AP Calculus AB exam
Complete the remaining 36 lessons in the DIVE/Saxon Calculus course
Complete an AP Calculus BC prep book
