The recommended edition of Saxon Algebra 2 is 20 + years old. It does not include the 21st Century topics like computer math, non-standard solutions, real-world word problems, and technology applications, required to excel on the redesigned PSAT & SAT and college math classes. After John Saxon passed away, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt purchased Saxon Publishers. While HMH has released newer 4th editions of Algebra 1 and 2, they do use John's original teaching methods.
